Founded in 2019 by serial entrepreneur Ning Li, Typology became the #1 selling skincare brand online in France and operates also in Germany, the USA and Japan.
Mission
Typology is growing fast in its domestic and international markets and continues to enrich its product offer and customer experience. In this context, we are looking for a Packaging Project Manager to join our Product team based at our headquarters in Paris. This is a fixed-term position to cover a maternity leave. You will be responsible for leading the development and industrialization of packaging and gift sets, while ensuring both operational excellence and a premium unboxing experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end packaging development projects (primary & secondary packaging, gift sets & advent calendar, accessories), from brief to industrialization, while meeting project timeline.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Supply Chain, Creative, Tech) and external partners (suppliers, manufacturers, agencies).
- Select and develop materials and finishes aligned with the brand's visual identity, sustainability goals, and cost constraints.
- Lead supplier relationships: sourcing, cost negotiation, follow-up of production launches, and continuous performance improvement.
- Ensure the customer unboxing experience reflects the brand’s premium positioning — from structure to finishings.
- Create and maintain defect libraries by typology and support quality control in development and pre-production phases.
- Investigate, document, and resolve packaging non-conformities, in collaboration with suppliers and internal quality teams.
Specific Skills
- Strong project management: able to manage multiple developments with tight deadlines and evolving priorities.
- Team player: collaborative mindset and strong communication skills to align stakeholders and solve challenges collectively.
- Supplier management: experienced in challenging and supporting partners while building long-term trust.
- Problem solving & quality control: able to handle non-conformities, lead root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
- Negotiation skills: confident in managing costs and production conditions with external partners.
- Material knowledge: solid understanding of sustainable and conventional materials and their behavior in use and transit.
- Autonomous & rigorous: comfortable leading projects independently while keeping strong team alignment.
Profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in packaging development (cosmetics, beauty, luxury, or FMCG preferred)
- Fluent in French and English: essential for managing international suppliers and cross-functional collaboration
- Experience in managing packaging non-conformities and leading quality investigations
- Strong interest in sustainable innovation and customer experience
- Previous experience in e-commerce or direct-to-consumer environments is a plus
